Psychologist - Bariatrics - Grand Rapids, MI

Corewell Health Bariatrics in Grand Rapids, MI is looking for a licensed clinical psychologist to join a busy surgical practice providing psychological evaluations for pre-surgical bariatric patients in an outpatient setting. Opportunities also exist to conduct psychotherapy pre- and post-operatively, to further develop group education and therapy support. The ideal candidate has a health psychology background.

This position will work in collaboration with a team of surgeons, medical providers, physician assistants, psychologists, dietitians, RNs and medical assistants to provide high quality care for metabolic and bariatric surgery patients. The team covers several locations and while the main location is in Grand Rapids, you can anticipate practicing at a couple satellite locations a couple times per month. Working virtually one day per week can also be anticipated.

Although embedded within the bariatrics team, this position reports to the section chief of psychology within the behavioral health department allowing for additional collaboration and support with other behavioral health professionals (psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists). You will also have opportunities for Behavioral Medicine Case Rounds, Wellness Meetings, significant administrative and peer support, and a collaborative professional culture that is focused on the highest quality care for our patients and staff.

Basic Qualifications: PhD, PsyD or EdD in psychology; Licenses - Eligible or Current Psychologist license in the state of Michigan; Eligible for ABPP board certification

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an organization of a size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health; ABPP Board Certification
