Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist

Your role and responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst for ABB's Electrification Resale business, you will provide financial and control expertise to the Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) in Byhalia, MS, benchmarking KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance, identifying trends relevant to the business. This role is a part of the ELIP Finance/Accounting team mainly supporting the Byhalia, MS site. You will be responsible to perform support activities within General Accounting, Financial Analysis, Reporting & Consolidation in line with defined strategies, policies and procedures.
This role is onsite (#LI-Onsite) in the Byhalia, MS facility.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Performing analyses of business performance versus budget and forecast, and accordingly proposing improvement actions.
- Executing benchmarking of key performance indicators with industry competitors and similar businesses within ABB; and working with other finance professionals to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance of the organization and identify trends.
- Month end activities to include (but not limited to): account analyses, account reconciliations, journal entry creation, posting and review, inventory analyses, balance reconciliations
- Ensuring timely and efficient communication with controllers and the Finance/Accounting team to identify and discuss issues and suggestions for improvement

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields and minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial analyst role
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including Oracle, SAP, LX, ERP or related financial systems.
  • Cost accounting experience requited.
  • Requires English language skill(s) and proficiency.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
