This opportunity is in the Accounting & Finance Department.

Role Description:

In the role of Staff Accountant (Internally known as, Reinsurance Accountant), you will be part of a dynamic team that lives by Safety National's Core Values: Relationships, Integrity, Teamwork, Balance and Stability. You will work closely with our Accounting and Finance department, other internal departments and external vendors. Your contributions of supporting our reinsurance group within Safety National will be felt throughout Safety National.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Staff Accountant will include being responsible for daily tasks required to perform LPT, assumed and/or ceded business, with primary focus on all facets of the Safety National fronting program efforts, including significant effort involved with maintaining fronting relationships. This role requires regular contact and communication with internal management, as well as third parties such as other affiliated companies, third party administrators and cover holders. This role will be Safety National's representative for all items related to the operations of the fronting programs and will be primarily responsible to address questions or issues when they arise.

Additionally, you will be responsible for meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operation issues and questions are being addressed appropriately, as needed. Monthly, quarterly, and annual coordination and updating of financial subsystems with both internal and external parties in order to ensure data is appropriately updated. You will investigate and address outstanding issues both independently and well as in a group environment, with ability to facilitate discussion with others.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a four year Bachelor's degree in Accounting and has two to three years of relevant experience. Some of the essentials skills required of you in this role are, good overall communication, dependable, organized, motivated and accountable with a mature attitude. The ability to work independently, as well as within a team. Prior experience with People Soft is preferred

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required


Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of relevant experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Dependable organized, motivated and accountable with a mature attitude
  • Efficient, accurate and detail oriented, and adhering to established procedures
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with fronting programs, or 2 - 5 years' experience in insurance industry

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
