Position Overview:
The ADA and Olmstead Projects Senior Health Care Consultant will work in a collaborative team environment to conduct project management, research, develop, review, and discuss policy and programming solutions to support initiatives focused on compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and federal Olmstead requirements. Candidates with a strong background in federal ADA and Olmstead principles, Medicaid and SAMHSA regulations, and project management are preferred.

Essential Functions:



  • Overseeing project management for engagements focused on ADA and Olmstead requirements.
  • Utilizing expertise to conduct comprehensive and nationwide research on federal compliance and oversight efforts of ADA and Olmstead requirements.
  • Developing and assistance in implementing policy documentation for client states.
  • Providing expert guidance and support agency leadership in implementing improvements and addressing challenges.
  • Collaborating with agency staff to develop and implement quality assurance measures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in meetings, presentations, and discussions related to the ADA and Olmstead.
  • Conducting research and remaining updated on emerging trends, research findings, best practices, and evidence-based services in behavioral health, developmental disabilities, aging and physical disabilities, and multi-system youth.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration amongst client stakeholders.
  • Analyzing data and outcomes to assess the impact of interventions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Working with state client personnel to determine best policy approaches to challenges surrounding eligibility and enrollment, claims payment, person-centered service planning, and workforce shortages.
  • Maintaining security of and confidentiality of all protected health information (PHI).
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Have the ability to work at least 30 hours a week in an office setting located in Lincoln, Nebraska.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years' of related experience required.
  • Experience and knowledge of ADA and Olmstead requirements.
  • Previous experience in policy administration or project management roles is preferred.
  • Proficient use of applicable software tools, including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present to large or small groups.
  • Self-directed and motivated, with ability to work independently under general instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.
  • Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.


The Team:
Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the employee will report to one of our Managers or Senior Managers on the Cost Report/DSH engagement team.

Work Style:
Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. Dependent on performance, our in-office associates are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after their initial 90-day training period. As a company, we are always willing to discuss potential flexibility that an employee may need to better suit their work-life wellbeing.
