The Associate General Counsel - Policy will be part of the legal team supporting the policy work of CSBS. The individual will work cross-functionally across CSBS providing banking and financial services expertise supporting the organization's public policy work. The individual will provide expertise and support to state financial regulators on federal banking laws, including the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, Federal Reserve Act, Bank Holding Company Act, and National Bank Act. This will include research and analysis of current and proposed financial services laws and regulation. The individual will also monitor and report on judicial developments in financial services at both the state and federal level. The individual will advise CSBS staff and its members on regulatory, legislative, supervisory, and enforcement issues, and document legal issues and corresponding CSBS positions. The CSBS Office of General Counsel (OGC) is responsible for providing legal guidance across the full range of activities and initiatives of CSBS and its corporate affiliates and subsidiaries. OGC serves as a strategic partner with all CSBS Business Units to ensure and support execution of organizational strategies and priorities in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and with CSBS corporate governance policies and requirements. OGC leads enterprise legal initiatives in strategic areas including privacy, enterprise risk management, board governance and procurement/contract management. OGC also works to empower state regulators to advance the dual banking system.
