Description

People Incorporated has crafted a paid clinical fellowship program for 2 individuals who have completed or nearly completed a master's degree in a behavioral science field and who are pursuing clinical licensure. Fellows selected for this program will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mental health services and experience a variety of service delivery settings across People Incorporated's continuum of care.

Program Details:

  • 600 hours, from January 2025 through June 2025
  • Each individual will be assigned a primary placement in the west or north metro area for the bulk of their fellowship experience. One placement is available in our outpatient mental health clinics; one placement is available in our school-based therapy services.
  • Additional shadowing and observation opportunities will occur in other settings, both residential and community-based.
  • Workshops specifically designed for this fellowship will be provided by People Incorporated's Training Institute as part of the program.
  • Clinical supervision, professional mentorship, and career planning meetings are also part of this program.
  • Pay will be $26 per hour.

Participants will develop and improve skills in

  • Building client rapport and engagement, using person-center principles
  • Assessing client needs, goals, impact of mental illnes on every day life - including diagnostic and functional assessments, comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans.
  • Integrating care: consulting and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Providing direct therapy services, groups, and psychoeducation
  • Completing clinical documentation that is clear, timely, identifies medical necessity and progress toward treatment goals, and meets program, licensing, and billing requirements
  • Increasing personal awareness of burnout and compassion fatigue symptoms and creating self-care plans for building resiliency
Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in behavior health field or anticipated graduation date within 9 months

Other Requirements

  • Pursuit of or intent to pursue independent professional licensure in one of the mental health disciplines: LICSW, LMFT, LP, or LPCC.
  • Ability to travel within the Twin Cities metro area to attend shadow/observation opportunities in other locations and attend required trainings, workshops, and meetings at our Eagan headquarters.
  • Ability to pass required Dept of Human Services background study
