Position title: Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Physiology Salary range:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2024-25/oct-2024-scales/t5-3.pdf). The salary range for this position is $118,000 - 309,800. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan (https://medschool.ucla.edu/sites/g/files/oketem306/files/media/documents/SOM-Imp-Proc-32015.pdf), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. The Department of Physiology at UCLA has a strong tradition of excellence in biophysics, membrane transport, neuroscience, cardiovascular research, and structural biology and has made many major discoveries in these areas. Candidates studying fundamental mechanisms in all areas of modern physiology, at the molecular, cellular, organ, or systems level are welcome to apply. Those who are leveraging new advances in data science, multi-omics analysis, or imaging to address important questions in biomedical science or complex physiological systems are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, and are expected to have a strong track record of research achievements and a demonstrated interest in tackling outstanding biological problems using state-of-the-art approaches. Ph.D., and/or M.D. (or equivalent) in hand at time of appointment is required. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program and participate in the teaching mission of the Department for medical, dental, and graduate students.
