Responsibilities:

    Serve as team lead to ensure accurate delivery of traffic engineering tasks for VDOT, Counties, Municipalities, and Federal Agencies
  • Assist in strategic planning, marketing, resource allocation, maintenance of deliverable schedules, and ensure adherence to project budgets
  • Lead and assist with the development of traffic engineering reports which could include traffic forecasting, safety studies including road safety audits, corridor studies, traffic impact analyses and other traffic capacity related reporting such as IAR/OSAR
  • Lead and assist with the development of traffic control plans
  • Coordinate with project teams to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
  • Provide QA/QC for various traffic engineering and planning deliverables
  • Develop and maintain key client relationships and leverage existing client relationships for future work opportunities
  • Assist with proposal development, project interviews, and fee determination
  • Participate in community engagement efforts and client management
  • Mentor and support professional development of junior staff
  • Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and VHB's growth

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Civil Engineering
  • Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) license. PTOE is desirable
  • 8 -11+ years of traffic engineering experience required
  • Ability to manage budgets, staff and schedules
  • Ability to engage with client and support marketing pursuits
  • Experience with TIA and/or IAR analyses
