Location: This position is based on-site in Chicopee, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min). The position will be on-site full time.

Mechatronics Engineer Summary:

The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for supporting production operations for all electrical / PLC control problems on a variety of machines. Analyzes, trouble shoots, and maintains plant equipment through the application of sound PLC / controls troubleshooting techniques and the implementation of new equipment for manufacturing. Delivers customized technology solutions to our customers.

Mechatronics Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and deploys the necessary materials, resources, and capabilities to enable efficient selection and application of products.
  • Installs, repairs, and adjusts electrical components controls and equipment per applicable codes and standards.
  • Participates in equipment design review meetings.
  • Provides product / technical support to ensure proper product specification and selection as needed.
  • Evaluates any issues and develops and implements appropriate response strategies to correct and improve product features.
  • Recommends and implements methods to increase the quality of products.
  • Exhibits superior safety practices while performing repairs. (LOTO)
  • Assists / supports new equipment builds and / or improvement modifications concerning electrical and equipment functionality.
  • Assists in recommending and ordering the latest elect components for equipment upgrades and new equipment builds.
  • Supports sight in trouble shooting and determining root cause for (RF) radio frequency and impulse welding operations.
  • Provides technical support to set-up team, manufacturing, and advance engineering teams.
  • Supports / advises concerns regarding safety issues regarding equipment operations, controls and electronic component selection.
  • Assist in training set-up and other maintenance support personnel on trouble shooting requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Mechatronics Engineer Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics, and
  • Five to seven years of experience in design or applications engineering, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Medical device environment experience desired.
  • Experience in the use of ladder logic software - Allen Bradely. Automation direct, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution, electronic components, AC/DC circuitry, schematics, and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
