Job Description:

The Hanover ESAB facility manufactures welding consumables for a variety of industrial uses. Manufacturing facilities are located at 1500 Karen Lane in Hanover, PA. We currently are looking to add on to our team as we continue "Shaping the World We Imagine!"

2nd Shift hours are Sun-Fri 11p-7a.

Hourly rate of $26.78 - $27.63 per hour depending on specific role, plus shift differential!

Rewinder

The responsibility of this job is to rewind fabricated wire of any size and type on a variety of equipment into predetermined size spools, cored, packs, and reels, etc. to specific weights and standards established by Management.

  • Will be responsible for loading pay-off devices, butt welding and grinding wire, changing and maintaining dies and drawing lubricants, threading machines, making minor adjustments, tying and securing spools and cores properly, changing spool and coil adapters as required, together with the responsibility for properly identifying, packaging and palletizing by utilizing such stamps and/or labels and such equipment and materials as are necessary.

  • Must obtain all necessary materials and supplies from predetermined locations as directed. Rewinders must wear gloves when handling wire, check each coil identification tag and identify properly with order pouch.

  • Will complete forms and reports as directed and keep the work area and equipment clean. Operators assigned to the new ultra production cell will participate in activities necessary to enable this group to achieve a semi-autonomous level of performance.

  • Each person is responsible for assuring continuous production while meeting the highest possible levels of safety, quality and productivity. Persons taking these positions must realize that they will be required to actively support continuous improvement, information exchange, problem solving and elimination of disruption and downtime in this area.

  • Employees will demonstrate support by leading comm. cells, making suggestions for improvement, adding information in problem solving, identifying issues and following up to assure needed corrective actions are taken.

  • These employees will be required to retrieve and/or return materials to the designated cell storage area(s) and to move finished goods to a designated drop area.

  • They will also be required to complete OEE Target Boards, transfer information to 3C/OCC documents and utilize Heijunka Board Systems to assist the production scheduling. Employees will be required to cross train and maintain proficiency in order to fill vacancies if necessary.

Flux Plant Operator

The Flux Plant operator will be required to maintain proficiency in all duties associated with operation of the Flux Plant.

  • Must maintain lift certifications necessary to load, unload, put-away raw materials, finished goods and other sundry items as required.

  • Will be required to maintain proficiency in the use of any and all IT enabled tools and devices and manual communication and/or information storage and retrieval devices.

  • Must maintain standards of performance as stipulated throughout the continuous improvement process and will be required to routinely exchange positions with other operators to maintain proficiency and meet any existing or future requirements as dictated in order to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

  • Must maintain any and all records in any and all areas as required and perform any and all tasks associated with physical, visual, and other inspection.

  • Will participate in and create improvement initiatives using suggestion, OCC and 3C tools.

  • Specific duties include: Checking material against receiving documents, scanning information into WMS solution and/or using existing processes, checking/developing BOL's for outbound, retrieval and put away from storage locations, weighing/ blending/ preparing system for and loading batches, initiates cycles, provides QC with information and/or documentation as required, takes and prepares samples, implements, maintains and improves standards related to 5S, work instructions, standardized work and all lean manufacturing tools, prepares product for shipment, palletizes and de-palletizes raw materials, finished goods and other items as required, performs all miscellaneous duties as required in order to maintain a safe, productive and efficient work environment, and performs tests in accordance with standards and requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED;

  • Successful candidates will need to complete a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and work tolerance screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, push, pull, bend and walk up and down steps for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery/equipment.

  • Visual acuity to operate and/or inspect products and machinery/equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment (hot and cold conditions).

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.

  • Must adhere to all site policies and safety standards.
