  • Develop and edit meeting/conference/workshop/event marketing materials, including invitations, programs, agendas, and websites online presence; coordinate the development of related material, including mobile "apps".
  • Support collection and analysis of data created from these websites.
  • Conduct assessments of organizational structures and provides necessary and appropriate coordination among key participants for the long range planning and development of organizational strategies to meet objectives and mission (i.e., information management systems, human capital, administrative support, financial and budgeting).
  • Prepares comprehensive status reports, management summaries, and briefing papers which identify problems, assess the overall condition of work completed or in progress and outlines issues, solutions and recommendations.
  • Initiates and executes very complex administrative/management projects. Utilizes expert skills in studying work methods, administrative guidelines, procedures, utilization of human resources, work assignments, delegations of authority, management controls, information and documentation systems, etc.
  • Analyzes and evaluates findings and recommends more efficient, effective and economical ways to accomplish workload and program objectives.
  • Participates in planning sessions, contributes management-oriented expertise in discussions of innovative ways and means of carrying out assigned programs, new programs, etc., and provides expert advice on the administrative and management implications of policy and program proposals.
  • Develops organizational charts, contact lists, milestone charts, budgets for work modules, schedules and other information to facilitate monitoring and carrying out key projects.
  • Prepares proposals to introduce new initiatives and to recommend effective operations consistent with overall program objectives.
  • Serves as expert analyst in developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating current or projected complex programs involving governmental and non-governmental organizations from multiple sectors at the community, State, national and/or international levels.
  • Analyzes existing or proposed systems, strategies, services, or other health-related matters for long range implementation and administration of the public health program.
  • Serves as a principal advisor in developing and formulating short and long range program goals, objectives, and policies. Frequently analyzes complex policies, programs, and statistical standards to advise senior management on policies, operations, products, and services.
  • Serves on the management team and as a principal advisor on the administrative aspects of the program operations.
  • Independently or as part of a team prepares and presents comprehensive program reviews to include recommendations on curtailing or expanding programs and program effectiveness.
  • Coordinates high level, collaborative projects with other internal and/or external organizations to meet broad agency goals.
  • Collects and compiles qualitative and quantitative information and data for use in program decisions.
  • Work with senior staff to provide support and oversight, as needed, in planning for annual meetings organized by NINDS for NINDS stakeholders, and/or on behalf of trans-NIH initiatives in which NINDS participates.
  • Lead and process complex issues related to programming and logistic demands related to meetings, workshops, and conferences organized on behalf of NINDS or trans-NIH initiatives, including proactive strategic planning in collaboration with staff and leadership.
  • Provide seamless coordination, planning and on-site execution of program and logistics

  • Work with senior staff to support efforts related to venue coordination, audiovisual production, security protocols, volunteers and support staff supervision,and vendor logistics; collect data and information required for NIH staff to prepare all approval requests
  • Propose and implement new ideas to improve the event planning and execution process
  • Use knowledge of travel and purchasing systems, Advise and assist overly large or complicated efforts related to the NINDS mission.
  • Maintain project tracking and management resources necessary for completing high level tasks relevant to the NINDS mission.
  • Design and coordinate systems for communications among staff to facilitate the efficient flow of information relating to meeting planning, engagement and educational projects,

    exhibits, and program activities.
  • Coordinate the flow of programmatic information across multiple NINDS offices, as well as NIH Institutes and Centers to be shared with NINDS committee management to support temporary and ongoing working groups of external and internal experts.
  • Work with Office Director and senior office staff to enable coordination, oversight and monitoring of progress for specific projects and initiatives; gather and analyze information about processes and programs; prepare reports, letters, and other documents

    for review and input for programs, policies, and activities.
  • Analyze program performance to identify issues and develop recommendations for improvement; draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for implementation of programmatic and administrative activities.
  • Develop, update and maintain spreadsheets to analyze information, including budget, communication and educational exhibits, travel and training; develop budget proposals; monitor expenditures; create summaries and reports based on information.
  • Develop, maintain and/or utilize various administrative databases.
  • Assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts, health information material, educational materials and other key products of the office, including tracking, recording and directing manuscripts/other drafts to reviewers and approvers; review, research, develop, proofread and finalize written and draft web content and print content.
  • Compose correspondence requiring some understanding of technical and/or scientific matters within the program with guidance.
  • Summarize the content of incoming materials, specially gathered information, inquiries from attendees/participants of NINDS-affiliated scientific meetings, workshops, conferences and other meetings to assist senior staff; coordinate the new information with historical data; draw attention to important parts and/or conflicts, provide responses and/or identify needs to the appropriate NIH staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across NINDS, NIH, and the Federal government on multiple projects.
  • Serves as a principal advisor and co-lead on special event initiatives (e.g., 75th Anniversary planning) and contribute to developing

    program goals and objectives, and support coordination and implementation of program activities.
