Job Summary

To lead the development and implementation of Epic Ancillary projects and provides a single point of contact for this area of the responsibility. Epic Ancillary vertical includes Epic Beaker/Lab, Imaging, OpTime/Anesthesia, ASAP/Emergency and integration with other areas. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Works with Epic Project Director to define project scope and objectives. Responsible for project tracking and analysis while providing analytical guidance to project team. Manages medium to large effort projects with limited supervision and accountability within the ancillary areas.

Accountabilities

Provides leadership, support and expertise to oversee access workflow, design, configuration and validation session. Manages site-specific configuration and build for project implementation. Reviews, mitigates and escalates risks/issues, follows up on action items and provides leadership within area of responsibility. 40%

Manages the development, review and implementation of project deliverables. Leads the design decision-making and facilitation as needed. Facilitates communication between all other projects teams as well as key workgroups, operational teams and stakeholders. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. 15%

Provides mentoring, leadership and knowledge transfer. Supports implementation team members with development and training. Provides knowledge transfer to team, including product and implementation experience. Deliverables implemented on time, on budget while meeting the project scope objectives. 10%

Contributes access knowledge and expertise as required. Assists with continuous quality improvement efforts in implementation. 10%

Responds to emergent or critical project issues and ensures responses are complete and accurate. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. 10%

Prepares project documents including scope, project risk reports, issues lists, project sign-off and SWOT analysis within project. 10%

Works with vendors, architects, engineers, stakeholders, and Information Services management to coordinate project activities for all associated deliverables. 5%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree - Information services, health administration, business administration, biological sciences, health sciences, nursing, physician assistant or related field. Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management or related area of study.
Minimum Experience
4 years - Integrated EMRs, financial systems, enterprise systems and/or ancillary systems. Knowledgeable of workflows and business functions.
In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements
In lieu of the educational and experience requirements listed above an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Biological Sciences or a directly related field and6 years of related experience in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or Clinical field/setting may be considered experience. A High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or Clinical field/setting may be considered. At least 2 of the years should involve working in an integrated EMR environment.
Other Required Experience
Presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills - required
Healthcare experience and CPHIMS certification - preferred
Master's Degree - preferred
SQL database knowledge; Project management software, concepts and tracking; Healthcare Software Applications; Perl/Java/XML/Linux/Apache; HL7 - preferred
