POSITION SUMMARY:

This position promotes the use of Orthofix's Spinal Implants product portfolio, including Spine Fixation, Motion Preservation and Biologics, to physicians and healthcare providers in a clinic, office setting, hospital or ASC medical facility. The individual must demonstrate consultative selling skills, possess the ability to call on surgeons and work well in a team environment in order to educate, train and in-service Orthofix technologies in the operating room. This person must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of biologics science, anatomy, physiology and the clinical application of all products sold.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Call on physician offices and hospital accounts for the promotion and support of Orthofix products.

  • Demonstrate an ability to carry out sales objectives through consultative selling, exceptional service and responsible constant follow up.

  • Continually develop technical and selling skills. Demonstrate proficiency in technical knowledge of the Orthofix Biologics portfolio, Orthofix Spine Fixation portfolio and Motion Preservation market platform.

  • Work hand in hand with other Orthofix distributors or sales divisions.

  • Guide and assist surgeons in the operating room through their clinical and product knowledge. Use his/her product knowledge to present, demonstrate, and ensure proper utilization of products.

  • Support customers by attending surgeries, assuring that the proper equipment is available and performing, including ways to optimize trays; provide Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department consultation.

  • Attend surgical cases, assist OR staff, provide expert guidance on proper usage, storing and handling of all products.

  • Develop and implement business plans to achieve or exceed sales quotas.

  • Weekly sales plan and quarterly business plans submitted timely to the Regional Sales Manager.

  • Participate in workshops, trade shows, sales meetings and company scheduled meetings as assigned.

  • Conduct educational programs to advance representative and clinician learning such as speaker dinners or in office/hospital in-service.

  • Transport, set up and return implant trays to and from hospitals/ASC.

  • Obtain Open Order PO's for cases performed within 10 days of surgery.

  • Assist with company sponsored IDE studies within and outside of designated territory.

  • Strict adherence to Orthofix's Compliance policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Be accountable for all record keeping in accordance with company policy.

  • Attend and fulfill all home office and online training modules.

  • Ability to travel when required or needed by the company.

  • Troubleshoot and provide other technical support.

  • Reports directly to a designated Regional Sales Manager & Sales Trainer for all aspects of the Associate Territory Manager position.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-2 years of sales experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Orthopedic, spine or operating room experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to work in an operating room setting and exposed to complex surgery and bloody fields

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Travel required within territory by plane, car, etc. about 90%. If traveling by car a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pound trays.

The anticipated salary for this position is$70,000 to $80,000per year, plus commissions based on performance, and benefits.
