SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Air Force, Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defence Force. Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients' challenges.

Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients' success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.

Our group, the Naval Surface Warfare Group, supports the Surface community and components of the United States Navy by providing program management, requirements management, force development, and readiness support in Washington DC and the Fleet concentration areas. We provide timely, objective, analytic assessments, strategic planning, and expert operational, technical, and acquisition support to the Maritime communities, and related agencies, allies, and partners. We are trusted agents of the senior and operational leadership in the Fleet, OPNAV, NAVSEA, and the Royal Canadian and Royal Australian Navies. We play key roles in providing insights and strategies to address current and emerging challenges to national security and have tremendous impact on our client's success in solving their most important issues.

SPA has an immediate need for a Senior Surface Warfare Military Operations Analyst. #MC



Responsibilities

The Senior Surface Warfare Military Operations Analyst is a Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of the Surface Navy and the Surface Warfare mission. Responsible for leading multiple teams in development of innovative concepts of operations and capability plans, translating them into detailed written and graphical descriptions used to develop and support mission and campaign-level surface and undersea warfare analysis, and briefing analysis results to top-level government decision makers. Responsible for conducting military effectiveness analysis of alternative capabilities to inform the development of formal requirements and program plans across the spectrum of science and technology (S&T), research and development (R&D), and program acquisition.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree and 20-25 years in Surface Warfare assignments, including major command assignment, with experience leading military organizations and high-level decision-making.
  • Experience in the National Capital Region, ideally having completed assignments in the Pentagon or the Washington Navy Yard.
  • Experience leading teams in developing rigorous analytic solutions to top-level government and military issues and addressing client questions and issues.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and ability to work autonomously without supervision.
  • Current DOD Secret security clearance, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Ability to develop business relationships and generate/maintain funding to support small to mid-size teams and work collaboratively with company executive level management.
  • Experience in military operations analysis, including requirements definition, conduct of analyses of alternatives, the JCIDS process, and DoD Acquisition experience.
