Application Window Open date: August 21, 2024 Most recent review date: Friday, Sep 20, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Project Scientist, Open Ranks Pool Ad The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, anticipates openings throughout the year for appointments in the Project Scientist Series in its various divisions. These openings may be at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Rank Project Scientist, depending upon the candidate's qualifications. This is an ongoing recruitment and positions are dependent upon availability of funding (extramural and/or departmental). Potential Divisions that may have openings include: Criteria for the Project Scientist Series: Duties: The position will perform independent research under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The appointee will also be responsible for helping to supervise graduate and undergraduate student researchers, preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, and assisting with the preparation of grant proposals. Additional Duties: Requirements: This position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field The Project Scientist position is an academic non-faculty position. Initial appointments are short-term, typically one year, and renewal is based on job performance, programmatic need, and availability offunding. Positions may be full or part-time and may be with/without salary. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
