PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
The Manager Health & Safety Retail NAM will manage and enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable global, regional, and local regulations within the NAM retail organization. The incumbent will support the implementation of health and safety initiatives and protocols as per the current H&S strategy for the Americas region. They will also evaluate, present, and manage safety risks to assure all interested parties that adidas is responsible and effectively protecting our employees and brand value. The H&S Manager will partner with the Retail Back Office, Retail Stores and Retail Consumer Experience teams, Workplaces, HSEE Own Operations, and Security/Loss Prevention to execute the Health and Safety strategy and company health and safety policies to ensure compliance with all applicable global, regional, and local regulations across Retail Back Office, Retail Stores, and Workplaces in the market, supporting the Americas Health and Safety Team in NAM. A successful incumbent demonstrates the ability to build the trust and confidence to inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring effective incident reporting and case/system management, and safety data qualitative analysis to promote continual improvement under the principles of Operational Safety Excellence to achieve full capacity under the safest circumstances, as well as expertise in the domain of Operational Safety Excellence, assuring that safety processes are integrated into day-to-day Retail operation routines and maintenance environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement health and safety programs in the workplace, ensuring safe working conditions for all employees and compliance with adidas global policies and all pertinent laws and regulations.
- Support the implementation of the HSEE Americas health and safety strategy focusing on adidas retail operations within the NAM market
- Ensure the application of suitable controls to prevent the potential exposure of adidas employees, customers, and partners, according to safety standards, policies, international best practices
- Coordinate, guide, and support health and safety best practices standardization within the NAM retail operation.
- Carry out safety inspections, risk assessments, lead accident investigations, and manage cases to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Develop efficient communication methods to increase the health and safety culture and ensure consistency of health and safety standards across the region.
- Compile, process, analyse, monitor and report health and safety performance indicators for the individual countries and for the NAM region.
- Participate in management and executive forums to promote the safety strategy and increase leadership commitment and employee engagement.
- Ensure appropriate H&S controls are determined and a harmonised implementation approach adopted with key stakeholders, other technical teams and internal business units, to deliver appropriate safety services and measures.
- Act as representative for global and regional H&S programs and initiatives as well as towards federal, state and regional health and safety agencies.
- Maintain all records and documentation in compliance with local and ISO standards
- Supports, analyses, and reacts to safety metrics and reviews weekly and monthly incident trends to discover patterns on areas where the safety risk is highest.
- Support incident investigation/near-miss process and train business functions staff on the procedure.
- Support business functions with root cause analysis and review corrective actions to ensure proper mitigation plans are being implemented.
- Ensure incidents are recorded on pertinent case management software and reviewed/closed out appropriately.
- Support all required training materials (i.e., new hire, annual training, toolbox talks, etc.) related to health and safety. Collaborates with business functions and Training departments to ensure all employees receive the necessary training.
- Inform business functions of new and developing health and safety regulations.
- Train business functions supervisors to conduct thorough investigations.
- Ensures vendors, contractors and third-party employees are compliant to Company H&S standards.
- Lead the emergency response plan and ensure team participates in evacuation drills
- Other duties and tasks as assigned to support health and safety for the organization.

- Knowledge of all applicable corporate, global (ISO), local health and safety regulatory requirements, including but not limited to principles of ergonomics, hazard identification, risk management, governance, incident investigation and case management.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience and certifications.
- Minimum 3 years of Health & Safety Experience.
- Extensive experience with the implementation and continual improvement of Health & Safety programs.
