Overall Purpose: DLC's Information Technology (IT) group oversees and protects our critical information technology systems to ensure we are able to utilize the best technology in powering our customers' lives. The team works to support the needs of both Duquesne Light's employees and its customers. From troubleshooting daily technical issues to protecting the company's critical systems, and collaborating with partners across the business on key technology implementations, IT plays a fundamental role in keeping business operations running smoothly and ensuring DLC remains innovative. The IT team is comprised of a range of primary areas, including Corporate Applications, Information Security, Project and Services Management, Technical Services and specialized areas, including Customer Applications and Operations Applications. Information Technology interns are sought for full-time (40 hours/week) positions for the Summer 2025 program. We are filling multiple positions, and the successful candidate may be considered for several areas of IT. Education/Experience: Applicants must be currently enrolled in aBS or MS program in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations or IT related field. Candidates must have completed their sophomore year of studies and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment. Physical Requirements: Work will be conducted in a hybrid environment with some time working remotely, and some time required to be in-office/on-site. Candidates must be within close proximity to Pittsburgh. Other: Applicants must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and social media screen. Hybrid Work: All internships follow our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Interns must be in the immediate Pittsburgh area for the summer. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
