Primary Function

APCOM's climate controlled facility in Franklin, Tennessee, manufactures electric thermostats, pipe nipples, dip tubes, elements, and burner assemblies. The 2nd Shift Extruder Setup Operator will initiate manufacturing operations in accordance with customer requirements and monitor performance to optimize production processes. The 2nd Shift Production Setup Operator will learn multiple setup positions as part of the cross-training program to help support the department while others are out.

We Offer

Regularly Scheduled Hours: Monday through Friday; 2:30 - 11:00 pm CST

Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.40/hr. total pay ($21.40 base plus $1.00 shift differential)

Bonus Opportunity: $1500

  • $500 at 90th day of hire
  • $500 at 180th day of hire
  • $500 at 365th day of hire
  • Must not be on a corrective action for attendance to qualify for bonus payment

Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical certification preferred.
Responsibilities
  1. Employee must have good job performance and attendance.
  2. Must be a self-starter, well organized, able to work both independently and as a team member, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Responsible for all aspects of safety, quality, production and preventative maintenance in their area of responsibility.
  4. Must be able to read and work from a production schedule.
  5. Must be able to read blueprints.
  6. Will be required to participate in continued education and training sessions, as job requires.
  7. Set up equipment and train operators in the correct set up and operation of said equipment.
  8. Must be able to comprehend schedule and required outputs for day production activities, including working with key members of other functional areas.
  9. Must possess and represent the organization with strong leadership, communication and teambuilding skills.
  10. Become familiar with APCOM's product specifications and the quality standards, including assisting in the development and upkeep of operating procedures for process and equipment.
  11. Comply with all the safety, quality, and procedure requirements as noted in the applicable Work Instructions.
  12. Must be capable of understanding and practicing the safety requirements of equipment and assuming the safety of self and others around the equipment.
  13. Will be able to use APCOM's computer system to obtain necessary production information.
  14. Will be responsible for troubleshooting minor problems associated with all machines.
  15. Must be capable of walking/standing/sitting for entire shift.
  16. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Education
High School Diploma or GED
Years of Experience
Minimum of 1 year related work experience
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
