Acara Solutions is looking for a Biomedical Technician for one of our well respected clients in the medical field.

  • $25-$35/hr (flexible based on experience)

SUMMARY
Supports specialized biomedical equipment throughout the campus; develops, administers and ensures compliance with quality assurance measures in conjunction with the Senior Biomedical Engineering Technician; repairs, inspects, calibrates, tests, cleans and lubricates electronic and electro/mechanical equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Responds to many hospital department requests with regards to equipment issues.
  • Assists higher level technicians in assembling, repairing, or maintaining electronic, electro/mechanical biomedical and research equipment; replaces components; takes test readings; wires circuits in accordance with specific instructions. Resolves simple networking issues
  • Inspects biomedical equipment for electrical safety, using appropriate testing equipment, such as ammeters, ohmmeters and electrical safety analyzers.
  • Makes repairs on biomedical equipment; isolates and repairs defects in motors; replaces blown fuses and worn motor brushes; replaces defective solenoid valves; repairs faulty instrument lighting; repairs gas regulators.
  • Maintains appropriate records for repairs and maintenance.
  • Provides preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment; replaces batteries, circuit boards and cables; performs mechanical adjustments.
  • Maintains an electronic database of equipment maintenance PM's and repairs, schedules equipment PM's and calibrations.
  • Maintains a current parts inventory; prepares part requisitions; identifies sources for parts; orders consumables for a shop inventory.
  • Maintains all electronic test equipment and yearly calibration of test equipment.
  • Research technical literature to keep up with changing technology.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of internship or on-the-job training/work experience in the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of biomedical, electronic, network, or electro/mechanical equipment; OR
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of four (4) years of internship or on-the-job training/work experience in the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of biomedical, electronic, network or electro/mechanical equipment
