Job Description: The Surgical Technologist performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management.It is expected that the Surgical Technologist will support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. About Riverton Hospital Since November 2, 2009, Riverton Hospital has served as a full-service community hospital dedicated to high-quality patient care in a healing environment. We provide state-of-the art-cancer care and treatments close to home. Patients can receive chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and infusion/IV services significantly reducing commuting and treatment time. Riverton Hospital has received a Level IV trauma center designation from the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. Earning a Level IV trauma center designation certifies Riverton Hospital can provide advanced trauma life support to evaluate and stabilize patients before transferring them to a higher-level trauma center, if needed. Level IV trauma centers must also meet strict criteria and be equipped to provide advanced trauma life support at all times. About the Operating Room We have operating rooms at our hospital performing a variety of cases such as: General, Robotics, Orthopedics, Podiatry, ENT, Urology, Gynecology, plastics and oral/maxilla facial. Shifts and Scheduling This position is a day-shift working Monday-Friday, 7AM - 3:30PM. Weekend call is required every 7-8 weeks, 24 hours. Holiday call is 4 times per year, hours vary by need. More details about the shift and scheduling will be discussed in the interview.
