Description Job Title:Extrusion Machine Operator I Shift:2nd (4PM-12AM) Department:Production Location:Middletown, OH Reports To:Shift Supervisor FLSA Status:Hourly, Non-Exempt - PAY $22.00 hr + $1.10 shift differential Summary: The Extruder Operator I duties include understanding how the resin structure works, how to run extruders, and prepare for both changeovers and cleaning of the dies. Some light maintenance is required, as is the ability to climb a three-story tower (regular staircase) to help with changeovers and startups. The Extruder Operator is also expected to keep area clean and help other Operators with roll changes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Proficient understanding of machine mechanics, including knives, blades, rollers, webbing, winder, etc. Perform necessary machine power/startup, setup, changeovers, shift turnovers, and power down procedures with supervision or assistance Loading/unloading resin Screen changes Die maintenance / cleaning Follow all purge and clean up procedures Measure and test product Identify defects in product Attain greater skills and knowledge pertaining to resin blending and film properties Produce high-quality high and low-density polyethylene film Read and comprehend work order Accurately complete "First Off Check Sheet" and other departmental paperwork Assist in producing product to work order specifications Dimensions Label information Placard information Targeted Run speed maintained Roll size Perforation location, performance and size Able to identify resin and its characteristics Complete quality check Qualifications: General: Must be dependable and have a positive attitude and a good work ethic. Must be capable of reading work instructions. Thermo Operator experience preferred. Must be capable of reading and adhering to safety rules. Must be capable of reading a ruler. Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment. Must be willing to cover another shift in the event of a call off. Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency 2 years of previous extruder operator or assistant experience required, 3+ preferred #ZR
