Position Description

The role of the Application Engineering Manager is to support domestic and international sales channels in the preparation of quotations and technical proposals. We process inquiries by creating a proposal package for customers for assigned products.

This position is based in Arvada, CO, USA, and is focused on our API centrifugal pumps.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage/assign engineering resources

  • Ensure timely execution of deliverables

  • Facilitate communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood

  • Support the distribution channels, fielding technical and application questions

  • Review inquiries to understand goals of the project, customer needs, and specifications todevelop a quote strategy and scope of supply

  • Prepare technical proposals complete with data sheets, performance curves, lube systems, seal systems and other auxiliary systems

  • Collaborate with internal departments assisting in proposal development

Core Competencies:

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel

  • Commercial Savvy; negotiating, financial acumen, terms and conditions

  • Experience working in a team valuing communication, participation and involvement of others Knowledge and understanding of centrifugal compressors and pumps - experience with rotating equipment is a plus

  • Ability to deliver exemplary customer service to both external and internal customers

  • Interface with vendors as needed to quote appropriate equipment

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic role

  • Flexibility to work multiple projects at varying stages of completion and multitask

  • Drive continuous improvement projects as identified

  • Position may require travel to support sales channel and customers (less than 5%)

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field

  • Equipment packaging and customer facing project management experience

  • 5-7 years working within an industrial manufacturing environment required

  • Experience managing engineers and project managers.

  • Experience with rotating equipment (API preferred)

  • Requires domestic and international travel

  • MS Office Suite

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $110k-$145k (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
