Overview

Designs, develops, implements, and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safety programs and procedures. Safeguard employees and surrounding communities to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations. Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Implements policies or programs meant to promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
  • Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives
  • Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
  • Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
  • Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
  • Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment.
  • Communicate facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
  • May also purchase and distribute personal protection equipment or other related supplies.


Basic Qualifications

Required Education: Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Major: Science, Environmental Engineering or other related field

Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 2-4 years of relevant experience

Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
