The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary The Media Producer is primarily responsible for the creative content and overall production associated with producing media in service of teaching and learning projects, programs, and events in collaboration with CTL staff and instructors. The incumbent is responsible for pre-production planning, recordings, and all facets of post-production while adhering to standard workflows and documentation for best practices. Ensures productions run smoothly and meet quality, cost, and timing specifications. Responsibilities
- Independently produces audio and video content and works collaboratively with team to plan, design, and produce media for use in a variety of teaching and learning projects; arranges pre-production logistics, including locations, auditions, and storyboards. Performs all necessary functions to capture material using proper lighting, cameras, and microphones. Manages project documentation and post-project analysis.
- Brainstorms subject matter and collaborates with stakeholders to develop videos, written scripts, and titles; edit audio and/or video footage for media projects.
- Performs editing and post-production tasks necessary to produce finished media consisting of but not limited to titles, branding, b-roll, graphics, soundtracks, animations, and captions.
- Determines the direction of future media servers, systems, and applications by constantly monitoring changes in the technology. Assists with the installation and maintenance of media computers and servers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience with a range of video and audio technologies as well as traditional a/v technologies.
- Experience with a range of cameras, including DSLR, 4K, lens, lighting and microphones.
- Experience with software and hardware for video processing, editing, online distribution, and web and mobile technologies, including Adobe Creative Cloud: Premiere and Media Encoder.
- Experience organizing media, metadata and archiving using repositories such as YouTube and others.
- Experience using Mac and Windows computers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to deliver presentations on related topics.
- Experience modifying and writing scripts and customizing media players for web delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work under pressure and deadlines.
- Experience with online course creation and related course management platforms for MOOCs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in web media technologies, including media servers.
- Experience with Apple Final Cut Pro X & 7.
- Experience with color correction, compositing, and audio post-production.
- Experience using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Unix.
- Experience with project management principles.
