Temple University's Facilities Department is searching for an Electrician II.

Hourly Rate: $35.57

Must have a valid driver's license.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Facilities Management Electrician II is responsible for maintaining and repairing all University electrical systems and controls up to and including 13,200 volts. Troubleshoots problems to make repairs. Responds to routine and emergency calls for corrective maintenance involving building systems and equipment. Works with switching and troubleshooting medium voltage systems and switchgear. Works on all building systems wiring and terminations. Performs complete operational and serviceability checks to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operation of all areas of facilities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
*Must have proven troubleshooting experience with Motor Control Centers, VFDs, Building Automation Systems, basic building wiring systems, and other electrically controlled mechanical equipment.
*Knowledge of low voltage and control circuiting devices.
*Solid knowledge of safe working practices and the National Electrical Code.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required skills and abilities:
*Must possess proven troubleshooting skills.
*Ability to diagnose and analyze electrical systems.
*Must be able to read drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, ladder control diagrams, pertinent manufacturer literature, etc., and communicate problems and recommendations.
*Must have expertise working with and knowledge of National Electrical codes pertaining to industry standards and Federal, State, and local codes and regulations.
*Demonstrate knowledge of industry safety practices and their implementations.
*Familiar with OSHA regulations, Arc Flash Protection, and NEC standards.
*Must be able to handle lifting, climbing, heights, bending, working in precarious locations such as light and utility poles, confined spaces, and quick response time.
*Operates and monitors all electrical building systems throughout the institution.
*Ability to perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment according to skills and abilities, as directed.
*Ability to perform complete operational and serviceability checks to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operation of all areas of facilities.
*Ability to perform corrective maintenance on systems and equipment according to skills and abilities.

Preferred:
*Experience in an institution that has these systems working in this capacity.
*Experience working with, switching, and troubleshooting medium voltage systems and switchgear, in addition to the generator transfer switch and system experience.
*Knowledge of electrical switchgear, variable frequency drives, PLCs, and BAS systems.
