Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking an intelligent and passionate leader to be part of our dynamic and evolving Process Optimization Team supporting HDR's back-office functions, including accounting, reporting, procurement, payroll, and other shared service functions. The main objectives of the Process Optimization Team are to collaborate with business process owners, subject matter experts, and senior leadership to:



  • Evaluate and implement impactful process improvements via any of the following methods:

    • Changing business processes
    • Integrating automation technology (including UiPath or Alteryx) into business processes
    • Collaborating with HDR's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team and business process owners to support changes to HDR's ERP (Oracle EBS)


  • Support and maintain previously deployed automations built with UiPath and Alteryx.
  • Educate and spread awareness of process optimization and automation capabilities to teams not currently utilizing these tools.



The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Key contributor in defining and implementing the Process Optimization Team's strategy as it continues to evolve and mature.
  • Earn the trust of and build relationships with business process owners and senior leadership.
  • Facilitate business process reviews with business process owners and subject matter experts while acting as a consultant to solve problems and provide recommendations for process improvement and/or automation.
  • Project manage process improvement and automation projects from requirements gathering to deployment, including but not limited to, obtaining buy-in from business process owners, establishing project schedule and scope, and determining an appropriate implementation plan.
  • Proactively identify project roadblocks and escalate as necessary to avoid project delays.
  • Leverage cross-functional subject matter experts, business process owners, and other teams to execute process improvement project deliverables on-time.
  • Develop process automations using UiPath, Alteryx, and/or other automation technology.
  • Provide post-implementation support for automated solutions, respond to user help requests, troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and enhance tools to avoid future issues.
  • Maintain documentation to support compliance with HDR's Software Development Policy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for automation technologies utilized by the Process Optimization team, including UiPath and Alteryx.
  • Stay up to date with new developments and capabilities of automation technology, including artificial intelligence.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in either:

    • Accounting or related field
    • Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field


  • Demonstrated project management experience, including ability to develop, deliver and execute project plans on time and with strong communication to stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen. Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and assess how changes to one part of a process impact upstream and downstream processes.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and drive for continuous improvement; able to take initiative and learn on the fly.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take on abstract and challenging assignments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Professional experience involving technology-focused process improvements or transformations.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy process and/or system changes within a business environment.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications preferred (i.e., CPA; CMA; CIA)
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, Hyperion, MarkView, Snowflake, Alteryx, UiPath or other robotic process automation platforms is desired.
  • Professional experience using modern technology tools or programming language (i.e., Python, .NET, VBA, SQL, etc.) is preferred.
  • A/E/C industry experience desired

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
