Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Carolina Housing is committed to providing convenient housing that is secure, inclusive, and supportive. Students create a home in our on-campus communities, build life-long friendships and develop skills for their current and future successes as they journey through their Carolina experience. In support of this mission, the department provides a comprehensive campus housing operation for approximately 10,000 residents including business services, residence life and education, family housing, administrative services, housekeeping, maintenance, human resources, marketing, and information technology. Within these operations, over 500 full-time, part-time, and student staff are responsible for 3.1 million square feet of residential space and an annual auxiliary budget of over $80 million. The department receives no State funding, which makes the operation unique in that it must manage both revenue and expense projections and budgets. The department is also dynamic in that it must continuously adjust to changes in student preferences, demand, rate levels, and a changing landscape of construction and renovation, and enrollment growth. Carolina Housing prides itself on being student-centered, data -driven and dedicated to continuous improvement. To that end, the department is amid implementing its five-year strategic plan and in the process of long-term capital planning that is likely to include renovation and new construction.
Position Summary
This position will serve as the Graphic Design & Digital Marketing Specialist and play an important role in managing and producing high-quality visual content for Carolina Housing. This includes a wide range of design projects such as signage, posters, print materials, apparel, web ads, social media graphics, and custom logos. The position focuses on supporting digital marketing strategies and campaigns, requiring creativity, adaptability, and the ability to meet the evolving needs of the department. This position will develop and implement digital marketing campaigns that promote Carolina Housing's programs, events, and initiatives. They will collaborate with internal teams to create visually compelling content for both digital and print applications, while also taking responsibility for website management, content updates, and performance analysis. This position will manage event marketing efforts, oversee project workflows, and ensure the timely delivery of all marketing collateral. The successful candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and demonstrated experience in managing social media campaigns, alongside familiarity with website management. They should be capable of handling multiple responsibilities efficiently, with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Professionalism, strong communication skills, and a collaborative attitude are essential, as is the ability to take ownership of projects from concept to completion. This position requires an individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, stay current with digital marketing trends, and bring creative solutions to increase engagement, brand awareness, web traffic, and event attendance. The Specialist will report directly to the Assistant Director of Marketing and will be an integral member of the Carolina Housing Marketing team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong portfolio of design work and a passion for producing high-quality content that supports the department's goals. Professionalism and respect in all situations are crucial to success in this role.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Expertise in graphic design for print and digital platforms, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) or similar software. Experience designing custom logos, signage, posters, print materials, social media graphics, and other marketing assets. Experience with WordPress for website content management and updates. Ability to manage multiple design projects and deliver on time while maintaining brand consistency. Experience working with internal stakeholders to develop design concepts and produce high-quality materials for various purposes, including promotional materials, strategic plans, and event marketing. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in Graphic Design, Web, Social Media, and/or Digital Marketing.
Required Licenses/Certifications

Must be able to move 30lbs (boxes or items) with or without accommodation.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
