Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The
UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. Position Summary |
The SLiCE Program Research Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day research operations of the SLiCE Program at
UNC and report to the SLiCE Program Director. This will occur in the following ways: 1) overseeing the operations of the SLiCE Core Facility through: (a) identification of and interface with new customers; and (b) experimental planning and execution in the laboratory; 2) enabling translational studies within the LCCC2212 clinical feasibility study and other future biospecimen collection studies through: (a) experimental planning and execution in the laboratory; (b) patient tumor preparation and testing; data analysis and record management; and (d) downstream data compilation; 3) maintaining and overseeing a robust organizational structure which will underpin all duties stated above. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure. |

Two years of general research experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. |

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Cell culture-Ex vivo models
- Patient tissue processing
- Lab and clinical data management
- Experimental planning and design
- Database storage
- Various imaging techniques
- Lab and personnel management
- An enthusiastic posture toward learning, organization, and collaboration
