Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Mason Gross School of the Arts ( MGSA) - Dean's Office. This position reports directly to the Assistant to the Dean Supervisor with a dotted-line to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Manages the daily operations of the Dean's Office, Mason Gross School of the Arts (MGSA) and for ensuring efficient and effective operations of the Dean's Office through a wide range of administrative responsibilities.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for campus visitors as well as inquires to the Dean's Office from faculty, staff, students, administrators, and all other stakeholders.
  • Ensures office operations and procedures are well organized, communications and correspondence are coordinated, supplies are inventoried, ordered, and organized, space is organized, and clerical functions are performed.
  • Provides administrative support to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and as needed, the Dean, including, but not limited to calendar management, meeting scheduling and arrangements, event planning and administration of academic affairs.
  • Coordinates the work of Mason Gross Curriculum Committee, collaborating with and guiding faculty, department chairs, and deans in the creation of new curricula and academic programs.
  • Creates effective processes for approval, assessment, and benchmarking of both existing and new academic programs.
  • Liaises with MGSA Office of Advising and Student Success.
  • Provides administrative and logistical support for related programming and events as well key schoolwide meetings and events.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor in a confidential, fast-paced, deadline-driven, customer service-focused environment.
  • Performs work in a manner that furthers the mission of MGSA, Rutgers, and contributes to strategic goals.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function.

  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with developing spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Ability to collaborate in a collegial and cooperative fashion.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Strong skills in all forms of communication with a wide variety of internal and external constituents on behalf of the Dean's Office.
