Description Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Modeling & Simulation Lead Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Defense Systems provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, IT and manufacturing solutions to our customers most technically challenging problems Primary Responsibilities The Modeling and Simulation Engineering Lead will spearhead the design, development, and validation of a sophisticated modeling and simulation environment for high-power systems. This role involves managing multiple teams creating physics-based dynamical models for AC/DC electrical power systems, power electronics, thermal-fluid systems, and directed-energy systems. The incumbent will define the architecture, functional specifications, and interfaces for integrating system-of-systems dynamical models, encompassing various engineering disciplines such as electrical, software, and thermal-fluids. Key responsibilities include conducting simulation studies to verify control system performance against customer requirements, utilizing techniques such as Monte Carlo studies. Additionally, the lead will support the development, integration, and testing of control system electronic hardware and software, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow.
