Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team of software development and quality engineers to deliver high-value custom applications (Finance and Accounting Systems) for Vizient's GPO Systems service line. You will be responsible for ensuring technical quality, architectural integrity, operational readiness, and managing technical debt across assigned products. You will work closely with the Service Line Leader, Business Technology Product Owner (BTPO), subject matter experts, UX designers, Product Strategy Management (PSM), Enterprise Architects (EA), Quality Analysts (QA), Support, Operations, and Development Operations, you will ensure products meet compliance standards and follow sound engineering practices. As a change agent, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to improve technical and operational processes while providing thought leadership and driving innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical solutioning, estimation, and development for pipeline initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on contributions to design, development, and architecture.
  • Serve as the Engineering Owner for small to medium-sized development teams.
  • Mentor and coach teams on Agile methodologies and engineering best practices.
  • Foster team ownership of projects and issue resolution, acting as a player-coach when needed.
  • Act as an escalation point for high-severity production issues.
  • Support annual budgeting by contributing to estimates, feasibility, scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management for software and quality engineers.
  • Ensure cross-functional consistency and alignment across teams.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects to ensure compliance with architectural best practices.
  • Work closely with DevOps, QA, and support teams to optimize development and operations.
  • Stay informed about technology trends and internal roadmaps to guide team skill development.
  • Drive the adoption of Agile, lean, and engineering practices to support effective team structures.
  • Develop individualized growth plans for team members and provide ongoing mentorship.
  • Act as a change agent, improving technical and operational processes while fostering innovation.
  • Ensure alignment with industry trends, business needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate a digital engineering culture that emphasizes innovation, growth, and continuous development.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years' of experience in software development, with expertise in designing and deploying large-scale, data-driven web applications using technologies such as .NET, JavaScript, Angular, Typescript, SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Service Bus, Octopus, and MicroStrategy.
  • 5 or more years' of leadership experience, including direct, indirect, or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to process improvement.
  • Experience managing a large program, and a deep understanding of process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Ability to partner with the business to creative solve their needs.
  • Ability to understand complex business problems and identify and interpret business needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
