Overview

Job Summary

The role supports and advances enterprise technology, integration, and oversight of the Advocate Health financial planning budgeting and management reporting functions. Supports financial strategies and practices and ensures systems effectively support the achievement of the organization's objectives. This role is visible to the market CFO's and Site Finance as provides daily support to all budget and reporting users.

Essential Functions

  • Supports the preparation of Midwest and Southeast region's operating budget plans and financial target allocations.
  • Assists the functional roles for each respective region and site-based Finance teams, ensuring timing and processes align with the Enterprise operating budgeting timelines.
  • Researches and analyzes financial data and trends to facilitate each regional budgeting process.
  • Design best practice reporting and data retrieval methodology to support the needs of the enterprise and specific needs of each market.
  • Supports monthly budget administration and maintenance of the budgeting system.
  • Assists in training and support for all site-based Finance teams on automation and budget process improvement.
  • Manages uploads and data accuracy and integration for the regions.
  • Supports and manages the preparation of regional and enterprise region Axiom/Workday/One Stream reports and statistical reports.
  • Support all project-based ad-hoc reporting and requirements.
  • Understands and partners with Accounting to assure compliance and understanding of the accounting policies and practices.
  • Supports the enterprise performance management systems administration and directs system updates, conversions, and upgrades
  • Participates in selection and on-going support of the financial planning budgeting and management reporting system. Evaluates on-going needs of the enterprise relative to capabilities of the system ensuring electronic solutions are contemporary, robust, and optimized.
  • Ensures completeness, accuracy, and integrity of database, mappings, and reference tables with the enterprise financial planning modules.
  • Works with the system vendor or information services to resolve system concerns or issues.
  • Supports security, single sign-on, and related internal audits for system access.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated understanding of the cause and effect of operating activities on financial performance and its related budget and cost implications.
  • Knowledge of the best financial practices within and outside the health care industry. Strong understanding of health care dynamics and economics as it relates to the profitability of various services and margin/EBIDA contribution available with marginal investment.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in developing and evaluating complex financial systems, plans, and strategies which support creating effective and successful business plans.
  • Skills in prioritizing needs based on aggressive timelines and business requirements. Effectively manages resources and develops processes that will positively impact the organization. Has the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure.
  • Strong technical, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of teammates, management, executives, and other organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex financial issues to non-financial or clinic staff or leadership.

Physical Requirements
Work requires sitting at a desk, working on a computer, talking on the telephone, and preparing reports and other statistical data in an office environment. Must be able to stand, walk and travel in personal car to other facilities.

Compensation

Base Pay: $84,947.20- 127,420.80 annually

Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training
Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job
Incentive pay for select positions

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred. Minimum 2 to 4 years of related experience preferred.
