Inpatient Manager, Rehab Services

Full-time 40 hours. Overseeing a busy acute care, teaching hospital Inpatient PT and OT program that runs seven days a week, and 12 hours a day. Hours are flexible in accordance with need of position.

The primary responsibilities of the Inpatient Manager of Inpatient Services is to assist the Director in the optimal operation of the Inpatient Department while providing the highest quality of care for our Physical, and Occupational Therapy Patients. The Inpatient Manager provides daily to the complex systems of the Inpatient Department., which impacts treatment, scheduling, patient throughput and financial reimbursement. The Manager provides staffing assignment of patients for both physical and occupational patients as well as from the medical and surgical floors. This critical management supports the Rehabilitation Services Department's daily ability to reach its annual financial goals and objectives. To achieve these goals the Manager must take time to work closely with and for these staff encouraging them to speak about concerns.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervision of daily activities of the Rehabilitation Outpatient Services. Overseeing, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists as well as Administrative Staff.
• Performance is monitored, and documentation of employee issues is done when appropriate.
• Coordinates activities of outpatient services distantly if present with other hospital departments to enhance the the smooth and efficient delivery of services to patients.
• Assists the director in the clinical development of staff to provide high quality, efficient patient care. Promote professional development and advancement of staff. This includes teaching, cotreating and advising.
• Coordination of computer systems, and maintenance of the documentation system to facilitate delivery of quality patient care and service.
• Effectively and efficiently maintains adequate level of supplies so that patient care and service are without disruptions. Performs this while maintaining budget goals. Makes recommendations for appropriate equipment for staff.
• Participates in the formulation of departmental annual budgets. Able to appraise departmental expenses accurately for Director. Monitors and controls expenditures for each assigned cost center. Promotes volume objectives

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy required. Advanced Masters in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.
• Current License in the State of Massachusetts as a PT or application for the same required and maintained.
• Current CPR certification required and maintained.
• APTA membership preferred
• APTA National Board Certification preferred
• Acute Hospital experience is preferred. Position requires a level of knowledge of technical operations and administration generally acquired through 3-5 years of progressive experience as a supervisor or manager of Rehabilitation Services.
• Prior program development and marketing skills helpful.
• Strong skills with orthopedics, Medical and Mobility preferred
