Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Compliance, oversees and coordinates all operational compliance issues for the region assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, involvement with professional licensing requirements, periodic reporting and filing requirements, inquiries or other correspondence from government entities or accreditation bodies, and external audits of Crawford claims operations.



Responsibilities

    Provides recommendations to branch management concerning compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Monitors compliance with state regulations regarding timely reporting and handling of required claims transactions.
  • Assists with, or prepares, as appropriate, required periodic reporting to governmental or accreditation entities.
  • Reviews and approves all branch responses to governmental or accreditation entities.
  • Attends and participates in professional and/or industry association meetings, seminars and continuing education programs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all State Insurance Department, State Workers Compensation or State Departments of Labor laws and regulations.
  • Conducts periodic compliance reviews/audits of branch offices.
  • Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, insurance or pre-law or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years related work experience in a property and caasualty insurance company or a claims-related environment

  • Proven knowledge of insurance concepts, principles and practices as well as application of laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze insurance laws and regulations to ensure compliance with same.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to devise and recommend solutions to compliance problems.
  • Ability to function in a team or project environment.
  • Requires occasional overnight travel. CPCU designation preferred.
