Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Associate Director for the Office of Student Accountability reports to the Director for the Office of Student Accountability and is situated within the Division of Student Affairs. The Senior Associate Director is responsible for significant administrative oversight of student accountability investigations and adjudication and the supervision of 5 full-time staff members.

The Senior Associate Director is responsible for the supervision of all University hearing officers, including secondary supervision of the All-University Conduct Board. The Senior Associate Director aids in the coordination of student welfare and crisis response and remains abreast on relevant law and policies affecting student conduct and makes recommendations for revisions regarding student conduct policies and procedures. They are responsible for providing advocacy to help students in navigating campus policies, procedures, and new or complex situations that would otherwise adversely impact student success and experience.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in higher education, public policy, counseling, or other related disciplinefrom an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three or more years of experience working in student conduct in a higher education setting

  • At least two years or more years of experience directly supervising professional staff members in a higher education setting

Preferred Qualification:

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.)from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience working at a four-year, public, land grant institution

  • Direct experience working with student well-being and mental health concerns.

  • Experience supervising and providing training and professional developmentfor hearing officers, conduct boards and/or adjudicating bodies

  • Experience managing complex and sensitive crisis student conduct matters including implementing interim measures and adjudicating suspension and expulsion level conduct violations

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of and comfort with appropriate technologies, systems, and databases related to student record

  • Knowledge of FERPA, Clery, and can maintain confidentiality within the bounds of applicable laws and regulation

  • Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills

  • Possesses excellent human relations skills

  • Strong skills in assessing levels of emotional distress and reacting appropriately

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments to support students and their success

  • Ability to work with students who are experiencing distress

  • Ability to have a positive attitude and a pro-active and creative approach to problem-solving

  • Ability to have a commitment to inclusive and diverse practices that recognize intersectionality and multiple identities

  • Ability to have enthusiasm for a team-oriented philosophy when advancing strategic goals of an organization

  • Ability to have a high degree of curiosity and generosity when seeking and developing relationships

  • Ability to perform highly detailed work

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Ability to have a passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds

  • Will have a collaborative disposition and possess the ability to think both critically and strategically

  • Ability to make critical independent decisions with limited information

  • Ability to successfully navigating university processes and procedures and an ability to objectively advocate for the needs/rights of others

Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information:

$80,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
