Department's Website: * Facilitate short- and long-term planning and assessment activities for simulation in coordination with the Simulation Coordinator, faculty, program directors, and the dean. * Continuously update and refine simulation and nursing laboratory skills experiences based on identified needs. * Serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation in classroom/lab activities. * Coordinate alongside equipment manufacturers, Simulation Coordinator, and the Information Technology (IT) department for equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement as needed. * Orient simulation facilitators in simulation lab procedures, location and use of materials, and operation of equipment. * Manage the simulation budget and formulate budget recommendations in coordination with the Simulation Coordinator. * Attend simulation professional development a minimum of annually; ensure other simulation facilitators attend simulation professional development. * Responsible for business and marketing development of the simulation and nursing labs, establishing community partners, developing potential income-generated projects, and seeking grants and other funding sources. * Ensure a safe and healthy work environment, complies with college health and safety policies, practices, and programs in keeping with occupational health & safety legislation and regulation. * Model professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and related. * Participate in college and community activities, department and division meetings, planning, and shared governance activities. * Work closely with college staff to appropriately integrate simulation lab operations, obtain maximum utilization for the most efficient expenditure, and moderate student costs. * Participate in the development and revision, as deemed necessary, of the philosophy and organization framework for the nursing program. * Plan, implement, and evaluate curricula. * Create an intellectual environment that promotes critical thinking. * Select and maintain appropriate clinical learning environments (including laboratory and check-offs) * Use appropriate evaluation and measuring techniques regarding teaching effectiveness and student performance. * Remain current with trends in nursing education and nursing in general. * Maintain expertise by participating in professional development. * Participate in faculty and committee assignments, including monthly faculty meetings. * Collaborate in the development and revision, as deemed necessary, of the policies and procedures for the nursing program. * Maintain accurate student records. * Be part of a team faculty approach to teaching. * Keep equipment and resources up to date. * Post weekly coursework and learning materials prior to the scheduled content week. * Complete all grading in a timely manner for theory and practicum courses.
