The Izgu research lab in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University-New Brunswick is seeking applications for a postdoctoral research position. The postdoc will be responsible for conducting high-caliber interdisciplinary projects funded by the
NIH. These projects involve the synthesis and biological applications of diverse molecular tools (small molecules and oligonucleotides) toward establishing new-generation therapeutics. This program has been recognized by the
NIH / National Institute of General Medical Sciences to be impactful and transformative.
The postdoc will also be responsible for mentoring and academic writing. Consideration for the postdoc position will be given to candidates with proven expertise in nucleic acids chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and/or chemical biology. Applicants should be exceptionally driven and self-motivated individuals with the highest commitment to excellence in scholarship. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
PhD degree in either Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, or Biology at the time of the appointment. |

Substantial research experience with bioactive small molecules and/or nucleic acids.
Strong publication record.
Strong communication, writing, and mentoring skills. |
