Chicago - Senior Client Pricing Analyst

SUMMARY:

The firm has the following additional professional staff need. This role is fully remote and must reside in the Chicagoland area and live within a commutable distance to the office. The Senior Client Pricing Analyst is responsible for working closely with various stakeholders including but not limited to partners, practice group leaders, marketing, and finance to ensure that the client pricing strategy is consistent with the firm's overall goals. The Senior Client Pricing Analyst will analyze industry trends, market conditions, and customer behavior to determine the best pricing schemes for the firm's services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with attorneys, marketing personnel and department management to draft financial terms and pricing responses for client proposals and other pitch materials.
  • Develop budgets and/or forecasts based on attorney and client requests, whether for new or on-going matters.
  • Monitor the performance of current pricing arrangements against established goals and advise attorneys on alternatives that can gain better results.
  • Review current and new client Outside Counsel Guidelines ("OCG's") and provide feedback to the attorneys based on issues identified as part of the review.
  • Assist management with creating templates for various practice areas but primarily corporate transactions, that can be used to streamline budgeting.
  • Take part in yearly rate negotiations exercises for all firm wide clients.
  • Keep track of day-to-day requests so that all inquiries are handled in a timely manner.
  • Participate in other projects that may integrate with the firm's financial systems.
  • Setup fee arrangements as needed and set up new or update existing client arrangements in our accounting system.
  • Special projects as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (must be listed on resume to be considered)

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of four years of pricing experience in a professional services environment required.
  • Must live within commutable distance to a local office required.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Law firm pricing experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with corporate transaction terminology and be able to structure budgets based on different transaction types.
  • Understanding of accounting systems, procedures, and principles, with a solid working knowledge of client pricing standards, alternative fee arrangements, and client presentations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, plus ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical skills, including high level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications required.
  • Experience with Aderant/CMS, Clocktimizer and/or AI tools a plus.
