Los Angeles - Attorney Recruiting & Development Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Attorney Recruiting & Development Coordinator will lead all aspects of the recruitment, hiring and integration of summer associates, entry-level associates, and judicial clerks for the Los Angeles office. This individual will work closely with the Senior Manager of Law Student Recruiting, the Hiring Partner and Recruitment Committee, and the Summer Chairs and Committee. This position offers significant exposure to partners, associates, and professional staff throughout the firm and provides an excellent opportunity for cross office collaboration on strategic talent development initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute all aspects of law student, entry-level, and judicial clerk recruiting for the LA office.
  • Work closely with Senior Manager to coordinate the firm wide summer program and law student recruiting related projects.
  • Process new associate hires including coordinating and collaborating on orientation schedules and assist with the conflicts and background check process.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with various law school career services personnel to facilitate the firm's recruiting efforts.
  • Administration of the interview process for law student recruiting including registering for on-campus interview dates and coordinating all necessary arrangements. Prepare interview materials for attorneys and organize and track post-interview materials.
  • Coordination of law student recruiting events such as offer dinners, receptions and individual student follow up.
  • Ensure the due diligence process for summer associate and entry-level candidates is completed.
  • Manage the summer associate program by working with the Summer Associate Committee to plan and implement the program, including orientation, training, work assignments, social events, and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare and upload complete law student candidate files for law student interview process.
  • Coordinate with law student groups regarding outreach and sponsorship events.
  • Prepare and send interview schedules, greet and escort candidates, solicit evaluation feedback, and prepare interview files.
  • Respond to applicant inquiries and coordinate post-applicant correspondence.
  • Oversee the applicant tracking database (viDesktop) and develop and analyze office specific and firm wide statistical data/reports.
  • Complete surveys, maintain information in all firmwide charts for the Chicago office, and provide statistical data as needed.
  • Support Recruitment Committee members to create strategic plans and determine recruiting teams. Represent firm on campus for targeted events and programs at assigned schools.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and presentations, including conference room reservations and related services.
  • Manage summer program and law student budget for the LA office.
  • Process candidate and incoming associate expense reimbursements.
  • Plan LA office events as required (happy hours, welcome receptions, all-attorney meetings/socials, etc.).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a law firm or other professional services environment required.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to the local office required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior recruiting experience a plus; legal recruiting experience is ideal.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System a plus.
  • Proficiency and experience with social media outlets such as LinkedIn preferred.

SALARY

Los Angeles based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $71,000- $83,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
