POSITION SUMMARY: The Lateral Associate Recruiting Specialist will assist in supervising and executing all aspects of the recruitment process for lateral associate attorneys and practice attorneys. This individual will report directly to the Senior Manager of Lateral Associate Recruiting and work closely with the Firmwide Hiring Chair, Office Managing Partners, Department Chairs, Practice Group Leaders and the Director of Attorney Recruiting & Development. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Lateral Associate Recruiting to implement and execute lateral associate attorney recruiting strategies for the firm's U.S. offices.
- Develop new practice attorney and practice counsel recruiting strategies and processes.
- Liaise with Practice Group Leaders and Directors of Practice Operations to determine hiring needs and create recruiting strategies.
- Maintain relationships with legal search firms, obtain and analyze information regarding status of job market.
- Draft position descriptions and circulate positions externally and internally.
- Process, track and file candidate submissions.
- Review candidate submissions, ensure circulation of appropriate resumes to respective sponsoring partners and/or practice group leaders; provide and obtain feedback regarding candidates; and oversee screening process.
- Facilitate the candidate experience and interview process by serving as main point of contact for sponsoring attorneys, candidates, and legal search firm professionals.
- Conduct meetings with partners to better understand lateral associate needs to communicate to legal search firm professionals.
- Oversee and maintain applicant tracking database to ensure data is entered and updated accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work successfully as a team within the Lateral Associate Recruiting Team and the firmwide Attorney Recruiting & Development Department.
- Specialize in recruitment-related reporting and candidate tracking to circulate to internal stakeholders.
- Draft offer letters and maintain related statistics and reports.
- Supervise department staff as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 4+ years of law firm recruiting experience required.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the local office required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System desired.
COMPETENCIES:
- Experience supervising one or more support personnel is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of legal recruiting practices and procedures.
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, leadership, organization, and team-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up and follow through skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and project a strong and positive image of the Firm.
- Strong managerial skills, including the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
- Technology savvy, resourceful, and strong PC skills to include the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ViDesktop preferred.
- Must be able to manage a high volume of work with accuracy and a strong sense of urgency.
- Respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills and can work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, energetic, self -starter with excellent client service skills.
- Must have flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.

SALARY Los Angeles based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $92,000- $107,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
San Francisco based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $103,000- $120,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
Silicon Valley based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $104,000- $122,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule.
