JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a diverse pool of candidates for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Peters Lab. This is a limited term position on a 48-week academic year appointment with 100% research responsibilities in a limited term contract. The position will be based in Peters Laboratory within the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. We seek candidates with expertise to lead research on several projects related to the role of a nuclear receptor in modulating cancer by changing gene expression and the cancer cell metabolome. The successful candidate will develop independent research and contribute to studies with the use of biochemistry, molecular biology, and integrating genomic and metabolomics analyses to delineate novel mechanisms for cancer therapies and biomarkers to determine efficacy of cancer drugs. This position will complement faculty research in the existing, successful Center for Molecular Toxicology and Carcinogenesis (https://www.cmtc.psu.edu/) and Penn State Cancer Institute, among others. There are opportunities for collaboration with many programs, centers, and Institutes across the College and University. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in a relevant field (such as biology, biochemistry, oncology, physiology, or closely related field), a strong interest in nuclear receptors, cancer, transcription, metabolism, and a history of productivity. Familiarity with nuclear receptor signaling, metabolism, genomics, and metabolomics is preferred, and evidence of a strong publication record is required. The successful candidate must have completed all degree requirements by the appointment date.
