Description

As the Kids Club Coordinator, you will help ensure the coordination of staffing and smooth operation of a drop-in childcare program located at the Cape Ann YMCA. On a regular day, you will coordinate staff schedules, provide general supervision of staff and play space, serve as a staff leader in the Kid's Club area ensuring a safe, well-maintained, fun, and engaging environment for all participants, and provide direct service as part of the team working directly with children in our care. Additionally, you will implement a monthly curriculum with age-appropriate activities for children ages 0-10, assist in the hiring process, review timesheets, orient and train new staff members, communicate with participants, and carry out program policies, while creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for all.

To thrive in this position you have provided childcare in a recreational or educational setting with children of varying ages. You are a natural leader with an interest in building authentic relationships with members of your team and guiding them to success as individuals. You can provide instruction and model appropriate child engagement and behavior management.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with at least 2 years of childcare experience (varying ages preferred)
  • Must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of child growth and development
  • Schedule is flexible, days, nights, and weekends. 20 to 25 hours per week.
