Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center invites individuals who demonstrate strong technical aptitude & communication skills with a high level of curiosity to drive new solution developments and improvements to join our Business Performance & Insights team of the Fiscal Service Department as a Programmer Analyst 3. The successful applicant must be knowledgeable in technical architecture to promote advanced data analytics and business insights for data-driven decisions.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

* Analyzes business and clinical processes in cooperation with the internal customers and vendors to develop specifications to satisfy project activities and change requests and designs, codes, documents, tests, debugs programs and prepares the specifications for operation.

* Integral part of the BPI team assisting in the administration and system development of the Workday Adaptive Planning software.

* Work in a team environment, be flexible and adaptable to changes in assignments and the work environment, work independently, manage time efficiently and multi-task effectively.

* Collaborate with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of business and technical experience and maintain good working relations.

* Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and system diagrams; document code changes and system modifications.

* Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards; implement and monitor software testing procedures to ensure data quality dimension.

* Oversee the extraction, transformation and load of data across multiple sources for a more uniform data platform / staging area.

* Resolve technical incidents, design solutions for application reporting, integration/data extracts, and workflow technologies.

* Responsible for the design, develop and support of financial and clinical data extracts and integrations based on best practices while allowing for with efficient processing and minimize business implications.

The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Its more than 136 board-certified oncology specialty physicians include cancer surgeons in every specialty (abdominal, thoracic, bone and soft tissue, neurosurgery, genitourinary, gynecology, and head and neck cancers), adult and pediatric hematologists/medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists. They, along with more than 600 other cancer healthcare professionals (nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, navigators, psychologists and social workers), provide treatment to 65% of New Mexico's cancer patients from all across the state and partner with community health systems statewide to provide cancer care closer to home. They treated almost 15,000 patients in more than 100,000 ambulatory clinic visits in addition to in-patient hospitalizations at UNM Hospital. A total of nearly 1,855 patients participated in cancer clinical trials testing new cancer treatments that include tests of novel cancer prevention strategies and cancer genome sequencing. The more than 123 cancer research scientists affiliated with the UNMCCC were awarded $38.2 million in federal and private grants and contracts for cancer research projects. Since 2015, they have published nearly 1000 manuscripts, and promoting economic development, they filed 136 new patents and launched 10 new biotechnology start-up companies. Finally, the physicians, scientists and staff have provided education and training experiences to more than 500 high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellowship students in cancer research and cancer health care delivery. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

* Providing exceptional customer service, including building and implementation technical and operational solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency processes for end users.

* Demonstrate experience providing application support, including troubleshooting of end user issues and developing solutions to recurring problems.

* Ability to think outside the box to provide creative data solutions & system improvements to enhance the Fiscal Services team while delivering high quality innovations.

* Relational database concepts, terminology of relational databases and database design using principles of SQL.

* Data management techniques to build descriptive data analysis and reporting.

* Workday Adaptive Planning or other ERP software.

* Business Intelligence tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL Server, Power BI or similar tools.

* Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, or any other Data Analysis software tools.
