As part of that focus, we deliver data and AI/ML centric products to improve the safety, reliability, and affordability of energy for PG&E's customers. While playing a key role in providing a data management platform for all of PG&E, building products for users, and enabling the data governance practices needed to improve trust in data.

Position Summary

We are looking for an Expert Product Owner to be a part of our exciting and growing team.Your primary focus would be to provide technical leadership and mentorship across our data management technical enablement teams focused on metadata and data quality. You will drive technical feasibility discussions for our products as you collaborate with other technical leaders, product owners and development leads.As a productive member of a motivated group of engineers, product teams, and technical analysts, you will be producing ground-breaking, forward thinking, and revolutionary projects that are industry changing. You will be required to discover the boundaries of our platforms, provide solutions for technical problems and drive discussions within IT and Lines of Business.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies the appropriate customer audience, their preferred communication channels, and potential customer response benchmarks.
  • Provide technical feasibility assessment while collaborating with the Design and Development team to guide features and provide technical know-how.
  • Lead and mentor the development team in a hands-on way.
  • Define and address application non-functional requirements and manage technical debt.
  • Develops new complex product features, and implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new technology.
  • Develops new tools, resources, communications or to improve processes.
  • Evaluates new products and equipment and keeps abreast of new products and/or equipment available in the market.
  • Provides product feedback and customer insight to support product development.
  • Partners with products organization to deliver feedback on existing products and introduce potential products for future programs.
  • Effectively communicate the vision and architecture to team members
  • Maintain a productive working environment for development teams
  • Be a strong advocate for a culture of quality across the team
  • Collaborate with external teams, especially security, to design, implement and support solutions that are scalable.
  • Effectively communicate the solution to non-technical stakeholders
  • Follow an agile development methodology
  • Analyzes work plan and schedules to reallocate resources or reprioritize program work.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • 5 years experience as Technical Product Owner, in an Agile environment

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Process design, system solution architecture development with project or portfolio focuses in at least one of the following: Cloud Architecture, Data Management, Security, or Infrastructure technologies
  • Able to provide individual or project oversight on rapid prototyping/POC efforts and large-scale enterprise wide roll out planning
  • Operational support for applications, systems, or infrastructure
  • Knowledge of SAP, GIS and/or ESRI a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a strong work ethic
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to build strong relationships with and influence at the Director level of leadership
  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace
  • Able to further community & elevate team performance
  • Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the role and has strong sense of ownership
