Welder Day Shift

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Day Shift: 5:00 am- 1:30 pm (Monday - Friday)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engages in the full scope of MIG weld processes on a variety of structural steel including (but not limited to) rigid frame columns, rafters, pipe, beam canopy rafters, small parts, clips, and special assemblies
• Welded parts may include thin gauge, painted, or galvanized material
• Must have a thorough knowledge of welding techniques and a high attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Responsible for coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow with the observed condition of bead
• Read a tape measure and blueprints to shop standard
• Decide when adjustment or gun manipulation needs to be altered
• Decide how much and what repairs to make for pin holes and burn-through caused by an auto welder
• Train and teach proper welding procedures following manufacturing job procedures
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment
• Responsible for holding beads to specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations while maintaining the quality of the product
• Keeping numerical and alphabetical sequences correct
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in the work area
• May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by the Team Leader
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually above shoulder height and below the waist
• Wear the proper safety equipment

• Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year College or technical school; or (1) to three (3) years working experience in welding; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a welder/fitter in the manufacturing industry
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification following Cornerstone Building Brands welding procedures
• Ability to pass D1:3 Welding Test
