Job Summary:
Chronic wasting disease (CWD) is a prion disease spreading throughout Wisconsin and the nation. It is fatal to deer, and there are no treatments or vaccines. The World Health Organization recommends eliminating the disease from the human food chain. The team at WVDL has the ability to tests for CWD, which helps prevent the consumption of infected meat and track the disease's spread. With hunting season approaching, WVDL is temporarily expanding their team to handle the increased workload. Responsibilities: Performs routine support in a laboratory to support diagnostic or research work. May calibrate and maintain equipment and creates and/or updates records. May handle administrative and logistical tasks.
