Hill International is seeking a Project Engineer in Ashburn, VA. This is a full-time onsite position.




  • Inspect quality of new construction on a daily basis to verify compliance with construction documents.
  • Manage outstanding QA observations and deficiencies. Create and review QA reports
  • Conduct weekly QA meetings with Contractor; Transfer AE and 3rd party inspection and commissioning field report items to online CQM tracking system; Summarize progress and closure of QC deficiencies
  • Attend and coordinate with GC to schedule pre-construction and pre-installation meetings
  • Inspect and sign off on completed items/checklists, close-in inspections, reconcile disputed items
  • Oversee the building systems commissioning, coordinate between Contractor, A/E and Commissioning agents. Ensure commissioning issue logs are being maintained and updated frequently. Attending weekly and monthly TAB/Cx meetings
  • Prepare progress meeting minutes - track action items required by AE and GC.
  • Be responsible for Project Close-out Requirements, including defining, tracking, receiving and approving required deliverables.
  • Review and track status of permits, maintain permit matrix, liaise with building code authorities, inspectors, and utility companies to facilitate permit reviews timely permit approvals and certificate of occupancy.
  • Provide real-time feedback on construction progress vs projected schedules.
  • Actively participate in site walks with the General Contractor (GC), Architect/Engineer (A/E), and 3rd party commissioning/TAB and inspection consultants to conduct ongoing reviews of construction progress and adherence to construction drawings and specifications.


  • 4-10 year experience in field on construction projects, $40-90M range
  • 4-year Degree preferred
  • Vertical Construction experience
  • Knowledge of general building construction and basic knowledge of MEP systems
  • Experience with project close-out and MEP commissioning
  • Organized, ability to communicate status reports and follow up action plans
  • Project location DC, MD or VA
  • USACE CQM certification a plus
  • Must be willing to work full time onsite in Ashburn, VA
