Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Investigate, develop, and drive actions to remedy supply disruptions and constraints.
  • Effectively communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate recommendations for cost savings and supplier sourcing alternatives to Senior Buyer, Commodity Manager or Strategic Sourcing Manager and helps drive projects to completion.
  • Works with scheduling, plant operations, and other appropriate functions to develop forecasts and drive efficiency with ordering.
  • Works with business to address questions and needs surrounding materials and services.
  • Complete purchase transactions, ensuring that all deliverables are received to purchase order due date.
  • Keeps operations and inside/outside sales and management informed on delivery schedules, material lead-times and other pertinent information which includes supervising the ordering and expediting of stock parts to improve inventory integrity and availability.
  • Effectively communicate PO changes to internal customers as required.
  • Leads purchasing work stream and acts as supplier liaison between Strategic Sourcing group and purchasing group in quality problem resolution.
  • Support the purchase of all goods and services as assigned for both manufacturing location and commodity.
  • Require compliance from suppliers to purchase order terms and conditions, involving all the performance parameters for which they are contractually responsible.
  • Assist in maintaining supplier relationships through effective communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • BS/BA degree perferred
  • 3 + years business experience
  • 2-4 years direct purchasing/buying experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Basic PC skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Well-organized and disciplined demonstrating high work standards.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and suppliers.
  • Ability to do what is morally and ethically correct in an expedient manner.
  • Strong ability to perform under stress and/or opposition.
  • Up to 10% Travel



PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Standard office environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach
  • Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer
