ICBM Suitability Analyst

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is currently seeking an ICBM Suitability Analyst with Nuclear Weapons Specialist experience to support operational testing of the LGM-35A Sentinel weapon system, at Hill AFB, UT. This position supports the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center's (AFOTEC) ICBM Operational Test & Evaluation.

JOB SCOPE:

Join a team of ICBM operations and maintenance experts, cybersecurity professionals, test engineers, and test analysts. Recognized expert in the design, development, execution, and reporting of operational testing used to determine the effectiveness and suitability of the nation's next-generation of ICBM deterrent weapon systems.

ICBM Suitability Analyst you will:



  • Provide critical support in protecting our country
  • Develop test designs and plans for the execution of operational testing and reporting on the reliability, maintainability, and availability of ICBM Systems.
  • Apply a strong skillset in ICBM nuclear weapons maintenance to evaluate advanced ICBM reentry systems, reentry vehicles, weapons storage areas/weapons generation facilities, and related maintenance/test equipment.

A week in the life of an ICBM Suitability Analyst:



  • Provide technical services to the AFOTEC ICBM Test & Evaluation Team though analytical and subject matter expertise focused on test planning, test execution, and data analysis of the Sentinel weapon system.
  • Translate military users needs from acquisition program requirements to testable metrics.
  • Participate in Integrated Test Teams (ITT) and engage program policies, developers, subject matter experts and the user community.
  • Assist test team in planning, executing, analyzing and/or reporting on Operational Assessments (OA).
  • Assist test team in identifying opportunities to combine Operational Test (OT) activities with Development Test (DT) activities, described as Integrated Test and Evaluation (IT&E), and incorporate IT&E test data into dedicated OT reports.
  • Work with AFOTEC test teams to ensure AFOTEC test plans include adequate measures of effectiveness (MOE) and suitability (MOS). Participate in all relevant Developmental and

    Integrated testing, and conduct Operational Test, collect data where appropriate, perform data analysis, and report the results of each test event.
  • Document analysis and test techniques for use in test design, planning, executing and reporting of operational test activities.
  • Prepare and deliver oral presentations. Such presentations are high-level briefings, training sessions, consultations and strategy sessions with other internal/external organizational functions and activities to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information relative to proposed changes in assigned programs.
  • Develop and prepare a variety of correspondence and other documentation, i.e., formal letters, position papers, reports, studies, staff summary packages, briefings, charts, bullet background papers, etc.
  • Attend reliability, maintainability, and availability working groups, planning teams, test events (to witness), or other meetings and conferences.
  • TRAVEL: 0-2 trips per month in CONUS, more frequent during active testing.

Job Requirements

  • 6 or more years field experience as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist (2W2X1) at an operational ICBM Wing.
  • Hands-on Peacekeeper and/or Minuteman III ICBM nuclear weapons (RS/RV maintenance) experience.
  • Knowledge of: electrical and mechanical principles; safety and security requirements for nuclear weapons; interpreting block diagrams and technical orders; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous B29waste and materials is mandatory.
  • REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Candidates must have a current TOP SECRET clearance, and will be required to obtain other special security accesses (SAP) and SCI to perform the work. Must have a current background investigation within the last six years from actual hire date. Candidates with a SECRET clearance will be considered, but preference will be given to those with active TOP SECRET clearances.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is$90,000-$105,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
