Overview

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.

TRC desires to hire a Project Manager 1 to support the implementation of exisiting initiatives and development of new strategies in concert with the New York State Department of Housing Community and Renewal (HCR) and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). The PM will provide effective project management accross multiple initiatives, help administer programs, support market engagement, and maintain and build relationships with relevant stakeholders. A particular focus in this role will be management of an initiative, and associated contractor team(s), to comprehensively monitor and evaluate the performance of heat pump retrofit projects, and the applicable systems within those projects, in New York City and State.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with management of the Affordable Housing Agency Partnership existing building electrification pipeline including, but not limited to:
  • Managing the 'Project monitoring' initiative and contractor team.
  • Communicate with building owners and project teams to ensure that projects deadlines are met, deliverables are submitted, and to collect feedback on the program.
  • Enter project data and deliverables into NYSERDA project management platforms.
  • Identify potential issues with projects and communicate them to NYSERDA staff along with recommended solutions.
  • Suggest improvements to program and project management processes.
  • Work with NYSERDA staff and contractors to establish proper project management/tracking processes and protocols.
  • Assist with writing RFPs and coordinate with NYSERDA contract management and legal teams on issuing RFPs and awarding winning respondent(s).
  • Manage contracts for Affordable Housing Agency Partnership initiatives.
  • Write narratives and compile PowerPoint presentations on NYSERDA affordable housing programs and, if needed, present on said programs at meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Analyze program data to create pipeline reports, assist NYSERDA staff with reporting on program performance, inform program update and improvements, and inform the development of other NYSERDA initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to the outcomes of the Multifamily team

Qualifications

  • Bachelors required; degree in engineering, building sciences, or related field preferred; Masters degree a plus but not required
  • Sustainability/energy efficiency/building science certifications a plus but not required (including but not limited to: LEED, MFBA, CEM, PHI/PHIUS, CMVP, etc.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to successfully multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Project and contract management: manage scope, schedule and budget of project agreements and other program support agreements;
  • Outstanding external and customer communications (written and verbal) skills;
    Ability to coordinate with other departments to support projects and development or refinement of strategies and processes;
  • Must be a self-starter and function well independently and in teams;
  • Must be a high level Microsoft Excel user, and be able to perform Pivot tables, advanced formulas, and advanced data analysis of complex data sets
Preferred:

Experience with energy efficiency retrofits in multifamily buildings; preferred candidates will have experience with continuous commissioning, commissioining, retro-commissioning, and energy efficiency improvements in regulated affordable/LMI housing.
Candidates with experience with heat pump retrofits, heat pump system commissioning, and energy performance monitoring will be preferred.
Understanding of energy efficiency technologies applicable to multifamily buildings.
Understanding of HVAC system monitoring, data collection, and data analysis.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $56,597.00 - USD $81,619.00 /Yr.
